Tell Maryland Politicians: No New Gas Taxes!
My business, family, and community can’t afford new tax hikes at a time like this. As Maryland businesses and families struggle with the COVID-19 recession, I urge Maryland policymakers to oppose the Transportation Climate Initiative’s plan to impose a new gas tax in Maryland and to restrict the sale of gas by 30%.
The TCI gas tax threatens to destroy hundreds of businesses and thousands of jobs and force Marylanders to pay as much as $0.17 more for every gallon of gas they buy. Research shows this tax could cost the average family in the region an additional $254 every year - the equivalent of a month's worth of groceries for a low-income family!
I urge Maryland lawmakers to stop new tax increases that threaten our economy and jobs. Stop the TCI gas tax increase!
